Pickleball Compass ("the App") is developed and operated by Lone Red Rover. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.
The App stores the game scores, player names, dates, and locations you enter. This data is saved locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and may sync to your personal iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled.
With your explicit permission, the App reads workout, heart rate, HRV, and sleep data from Apple HealthKit to display alongside your game history. This data is read-only and is never transmitted to Lone Red Rover or any third party. It stays on your device and in your personal Health app.
The App may use your approximate location to suggest a venue name when logging a game. Location is used only in the moment you log a game and is never stored beyond the location label you choose to save.
With your explicit permission, the App reads events from your calendar to recognize scheduled pickleball sessions and show them alongside your recorded games. iOS grants this as full calendar access because that is the only way an app can read your events, but the App only reads — it never creates, edits, or deletes anything in your calendar. Event details are read on your device and are never transmitted to Lone Red Rover or any third party.
App settings (such as your name, preferred win score, and display preferences) are stored locally and may sync via iCloud to your other devices. These are personal preferences and are not shared with Lone Red Rover.
If you use iCloud, your game data and settings may be stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. This storage is private to your Apple Account and encrypted by Apple — Lone Red Rover has no access to it and could not read your data if we wanted to. Syncing is optional: you can turn it off for this app at any time in iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › Saved to iCloud, and the App will keep all of your data on-device only.
Health data accessed through HealthKit is used solely to display information within the App. It is never used for advertising, shared with third parties, or uploaded to any server.
The App offers an optional paid subscription. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, and we never receive or store your payment details, billing address, or any part of your card number. The App asks Apple whether your subscription is active so it knows which features to unlock; that check happens on your device and tells us nothing about you. Managing, cancelling, or requesting a refund for a subscription is done through your Apple Account settings.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
